Getting to the Room (402)

  • The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
  • Take one of the 3 larger lifts from the reception lobby and exit the lift on level 4. On exiting the lift, take a left turn and proceed through the fire doors.
    Take another left turn into the room corridor and the door to room 402 is on the right hand side.
  • The most accessible route to the room has a standard lift, a manual door and doors permanently held open.
  • The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.

Room (402)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 76cm wide.
  • The bed type is double.
  • The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 25cm high.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • There is hard flooring.

Ensuite (402 - Right Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 83cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 140cm.
  • Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
  • There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the toilet seat.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.

  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 69cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 26cm high.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • There is hard flooring.
