Getting to the Room (540)

  • The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
  • From the reception lobby, take a lift to level -1.
  • Exit the building via the manual doors and turn left. Bypass the restaurant via the terrace and go down the ramp.
  • At the bottom of the ramp turn left again following the foot path up another ramp, which is straight ahead and into the building.
  • Once in the building, follow the corridor right in front of you (which veers slightly to the right) to the end and the last room on the left is room 540.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift, steep ramps/slopes and manual doors.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.

Room (540)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 4 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 94cm wide.
  • The bed type is double.
  • The top of the mattress is 59cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 5cm high.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm) .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny and patterned.
  • Seating in the room includes: an armchair.
  • The following adaptations are available: plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm), light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm) and bedside plug sockets.
  • The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm).
  • The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door and the room floor.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the ensuite door.
  • Balcony / Terrace View
    • There is a balcony. The door has a small threshold and is over 75cm wide .
    • The balcony has: a patio table and chairs with armrests.

Ensuite (540 - Right Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 90cm.
  • There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 120cm .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny and patterned.
  • The toilet seat is 47cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the non transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, all grab rails, the dropdown rail and the toilet seat.
  • The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm) and a fixed height shower head.
  • There is no shower seat.
  • There are no dropdown rails for the shower.
