Getting to the Room (6002)

  • The average walking time to the room is 3 minutes.
  • The suite is located on level P6 in the Platinum building.
    From reception, cross the lobby and turn left after you pass the lifts. Follow the walkway, which takes you outside and leads to the Platinum building.
    Follow the room corridor till you reach the room.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is shiny.

Room (6002)

  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 80cm wide.
  • The bed type is double.
  • The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 29cm high.
  • Furniture can be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • Seating in the room includes: a sofa.
  • The following adaptations are available: bedside plug sockets, light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm) and plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm).
  • The following adaptations are not available: adapted wardrobes for seated users.
  • The room does not have a fridge.
  • The room does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the room floor, the ensuite door and the internal room door.
  • Balcony / Terrace View
    • There is a balcony. The door has a small threshold and is over 75cm wide
    • The balcony has: armchairs and a coffee table.
  • Living Area View
    • Seating in the room includes: a chair without armrests and a sofa.
    • There is hard flooring.
    • The flooring is shiny.
    • Furniture in the room includes: coffee tables.

Ensuite (Right Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 85cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 85cm .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The toilet seat is 41cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: horizontal grab rails at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin, the towel dispenser and the soap dispenser.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: all grab rails and the dropdown rail.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor, the toilet seat and the internal door.
  • The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
  • There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm) and a fixed overhead shower head.
