Access Guide
Resort Information
- Holiday Village Aliathon Aegean Village is on the main coast road between Paphos Airport and Paphos.
- This resort has the following facilities: rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, a toilet with some adaptations for disabled people, shops, a sports court and a swimming pool. There may be additional charges for some of these facilities, for more information please contact TUI or the resort.
- The resort has 195 rooms available. 1 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people
- Adjoining rooms are not available.
- The resort is on slightly undulating ground and has a number of ramps to access all areas.
- There is 1 restaurant.
- There are 2 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: a toilet with some adaptations for disabled people and step-free standard toilets.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found on the ground floor of the Reception Building.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found on the ground floor of the Reception Building.
- Baby change facilities can be found in the standard female toilet on the ground floor of the Reception Building.
- There is no medication fridge.
- Guests cannot hire mobility equipment from the resort.
- Guests can hire mobility equipment locally.
- The resort has a list of local suppliers.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- Mobility scooters can be stored and charged in the Luggage Room.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are allowed in most areas of the resort.

Entrance (Reception Building)
- The entrance to the building is located to the left as you enter the resort.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the building.
- The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are manual doors at the entrance, which open away from you.
- The width of the door opening is 185cm.
- The doors have a high colour contrast.
- There is a second set of manual doors at the entrance, which open towards you.
- The width of the door opening is 185cm.
- The doors has a low colour contrast.
Reception
- Access to reception is via a very steep ramp/slope.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The reception has glazed screens which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.
- Lighting levels are good at this reception.
- The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- There are a mixture of chairs with and without armrests, tables, coffee tables and sofas available in this reception area.
- There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the reception area.
- There is background noise.
Getting Around the Building (Reception Building)
- This building contains a main reception.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs.
- The following areas have step-free level access: the accessible toilet, the standard toilets, and the Luggage Room.
- The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: the reception desk and the seating facing the desk.
- The following areas do not have step-free access: rooms 421-426 on the first floor of the reception building.
- There is hard flooring.
- Some flooring is shiny.
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm, with high colour contrast between the walls and floor.
- Lighting levels are low in some areas.
Getting Around the Resort
- The resort is on slightly undulating ground and has a number of ramps to access all areas.
- The paths around the resort are made from: tiles.
- There is no seating along the pathways.
- Some of the paths are illuminated.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Reception Building Ground Floor - Left Hand Transfer)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 93cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 261cm x 207cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it.
- The lateral transfer space is 90cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: a toilet roll holder on the dropdown rail.
- The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and towel dispenser.
- The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the soap dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm).
- The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet seat (not at 48cm), the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm) and towel dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm).
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the dropdown rail and the internal toilet door.

Toilet (Reception Building Ground Floor)

- There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
Stairs
- The floors which are accessible by stairs are G, 1.
- There are 15+ steps between floors with resting points (landings).
- The stairs are not clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.
- The stairs are used to reach rooms 421-426.
Aliathon Plaza
- Aliathon Plaza is a strip of shops, restaurants, and cafes on the main road at the front of the resort.
- The plaza is on two levels and the upper level is accessed by steps or lift.
- The services on the lower level mostly have level access, with some accessed by steps or a steep ramp.
