Access Guide
Getting to the Room (121)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Exit reception via the door to the left of the reception desk. The door is a manual door and is 130cm wide with a small lip at the threshold.
Proceed directly across the pathway into Block A, through the fire doors. The door to room number 121 is on the right. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, manual doors and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
Room (121)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 3 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 83cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 50cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 2cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
Ensuite (121 - Right Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 82cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 128cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail at the shower and a diagonal grab rail at the shower.
- There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
