Getting to (Outdoor Pool)

  • The Outdoor Pool is located on level 1. Access from the hotel foyer is via the lift up to level 1. As you exit the lift, turn right and use the platform lift to overcome the steps. The entrance to the outdoor pool area is beyond the platform lift and steps.
  • The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift, a platform lift and automatic doors.

Entrance (Outdoor Pool)

  • The entrance to the swimming pool is located on level 1.
  • The entrance to the swimming pool is accessed by lift.

  • There is a lift which bypasses the steps.
  • There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the swimming pool.
  • The ramp is very steep, over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are 5 steps, which are unmarked, with a handrail on the right going up.
  • This entrance has a card reader.
  • The following are not at a recommended height: the card reader (not between 90cm - 110cm).
  • There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
  • The width of the door opening is 180cm.
  • The doors have a low colour contrast.

Lift (Platform)

  • The lift is located on level 1 before the outdoor pool area entrance.
  • This lift is a platform lift.
  • Externally the lift has: a door with a medium colour contrast to the surroundings, a door with a low colour contrast to the surroundings and controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
  • The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
  • The lift door opening width is 89cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 92cm x 140cm.
  • Internally the lift has; a separate door to exit, controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), Braille markings and tactile markings.
  • Lighting levels are low in this lift.

Swimming Pool

  • This is an outdoor swimming pool.
  • Access into the water is via steps.
  • There are 4 steps with a central handrail.
  • There is step-free level access around the whole pool.
  • The following adaptations are available for disabled people: hydraulic hoist.
  • The pool has a lifeguard on duty at all times.
  • Seating around the pool includes: sun loungers and chairs with armrests.
  • Additional facilities include: a jacuzzi and poolside showers.
  • The flooring is hard.

  • There is step-free level access to the poolside showers.

Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Level 1 - Right Hand Transfer)

  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 83cm.
  • The toilet door has a twist lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 330cm x 220cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet as you look at it, but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 245cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
  • There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
  • There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the seat.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: a toilet roll holder on the dropdown rail.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and towel dispenser.
  • The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the toilet seat (48cm).
  • The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm), the soap dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm), towel dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm) and the baby changing facility (not at 75cm).
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal toilet door, the grab rail and both dropdown rails.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor and the toilet seat.
  • There is no emergency alarm.
  • The toilet has a mirror.
  • There is no shelf in the toilet.
  • The cubicle has a sanitary bin and a pedal bin.
  • There are no coat hooks.
  • The toilet has a wheel in shower.
  • There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
  • The height of the bench seat is 47cm.

Toilet (Outdoor Pool)

  • The male and female standard toilets were surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 82cm.
  • The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
  • There is a standard shower in the male and female toilets. The height of the bench seat is 46cm.
