Resort Information

  • The resort is located on the east coast of Ibiza, in the Es Cana central area.

  • Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found on the ground floor of the hotel within the lobby area and next to the outdoor pool.
  • Standard toilet facilities can be found on the lower ground floor of the hotel, by the outdoor pool and by the kids' pool.
  • Baby change facilities can be found on the lower ground floor of the hotel within the female standard toilets and within the female standard toilets and toilet with adaptations at the outdoor pool.
  • The resort has the following available: a panic alarm, vibrating alarm pillows, bath steps and a pool hoist.
  • There is a medication fridge at the reception.
  • Guests cannot hire mobility equipment from the resort.
  • Guests can hire mobility equipment locally.

Entrance

  • The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the building.
  • There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the resort.
  • The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with handrails on both sides.
  • There are 4 steps, which are unmarked, with handrails on both sides.
  • The ramp overcomes the steps.
  • There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
  • The width of the door opening is 199cm.
  • The doors have a low colour contrast.

Reception

  • There is step-free level access to reception.
  • The reception has televisions which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.
  • Lighting levels are good at this reception.
  • The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
  • The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny.
  • There are coffee tables and sofas available in this reception area.
  • There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).

Getting Around the Building

  • This building contains a main reception, a bar and a restaurant.
  • The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and lift.
  • The following areas have step-free level access: all areas of the building from the ground floor upwards.
  • The following areas do not have step-free access: the male and female standard toilet facilities on the lower ground floor.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
  • The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm, with high colour contrast between the walls and floor.
  • Lighting levels are low in some areas.

Getting Around the Resort

  • The resort is located on hilly ground with a steep ramp or steps to get around. The majority of areas are step-free via ramp, however some toilets or activities can only be accessed by steps.
  • The paths around the resort are made from: tiles.
  • There is a mixture of seating with and without armrests along the pathways.
  • The paths are not illuminated.

Lift

  • The lift is located within the main hotel lobby area.
  • The floors that can be accessed from this lift are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
  • This lift is a standard lift.
  • Externally the lift has: controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings and a door with a high colour contrast to the surroundings.
  • The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
  • The lift door opening width is 79cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 90cm x 120cm.
  • There are other lifts which are similar in size at the same location.
  • Internally the lift has; tactile markings, buttons with a medium colour contrast to the surroundings, a visual floor indicator, a mirror to aid reversing, Braille markings and controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).

Stairs

  • The floors which are accessible by stairs are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
  • There are 15+ steps between floors with resting points (landings).
  • The stairs are not clearly marked and have a handrail on the left going up.

Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Ground Floor - Left Hand Transfer)

  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the toilet door.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 77cm.
  • The toilet door has a twist lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 242cm x 164cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it.
  • The lateral transfer space is 178cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
  • There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: a toilet roll holder on the dropdown rail.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder, the wash basin, the soap dispenser and hand dryer.
  • The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the toilet roll holder (between 80cm - 100cm), the soap dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm) and hand dryer (between 80cm - 100cm).
  • The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet seat (not at 48cm) and the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm).
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the dropdown rail, the internal toilet door and the grab rail.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor and the toilet seat.
  • There is no emergency alarm.
  • The toilet has a mirror.
  • There is no shelf in the toilet.
  • The cubicle has a pedal bin.
  • There are no coat hooks.

Toilet (Lower Ground Floor - Male and Female)

  • The male and female standard toilets were surveyed.
  • There is not step-free access into the toilet.
  • There are 10+ steps to access the toilet. These are unmarked, with a handrail on the left going down.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 68cm.
  • The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
