Getting to the Room (101 - With Adaptations for Disabled People)

  • The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
  • Enter the building and turn left at reception. Follow the main corridor until you reach a large set of wooden and glass doors.
    Turn right here to face the main lifts. Take a lift to the 1st floor.
    After exiting the lift go straight ahead through the doors then turn left. Room 101 is located on the right at the end of the corridor.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and a standard lift.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.

Room (101 - With Adaptations for Disabled People)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 77cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 62cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 14cm high.
  • Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
  • Seating in the room includes: chairs with armrests and sofas.
  • The following adaptations are available: plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm), bedside plug sockets, light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm) and a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm).
  • The following adaptations are not available: adapted wardrobes for seated users, window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm) and a lowered spyhole.
  • The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
  • The room does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door, the room floor and the ensuite door.
  • Balcony / Terrace View
    • There is a balcony. The door is over 75cm wide
    • The balcony has: chairs without armrests, sun loungers and a coffee table.

Ensuite (Room 101 - With Adaptations for Disabled People - Right Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 78cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 112cm.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
  • The toilet seat is 46cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder and the soap dispenser.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: both dropdown rails, all grab rails and the floor.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door and the toilet seat.
  • The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
