Access Guide
Getting to the Room (112 - Level 1)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- From reception, take a lift to the first floor. On exiting the lift, turn left and head through the fire doors into the room corridor.
The door to room 112 is on the right. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are under 120cm.
- The width of the lift door opening is 83cm.
- The internal dimensions for the lift are 108cm x 143cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (112)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 8 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 81cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 59cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 25cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 90cm.
Ensuite (112)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 79cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 145cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder and an emergency alarm.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There are removable grabrails which are fitted either sides of the toilet when disabled guests require assistance.
