Access Guide
Getting to the Room (447)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- From reception take a right towards the double doors (which are always held open). The width of the doorway is 190cm.
Once through the doorway, turn right then head down a ramp. The ramp is 160cm wide and has a handrail on the left going down.
At the bottom of the ramp turn left then proceed along the corridor to room number 447. - The most accessible route to the room has doors permanently held open, slight ramps/slopes and step-free level access.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is patterned.
Room (447)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are more than 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free access into the room, via a ramp.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 95cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 27cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The space from the bed to the sofa on the left measures 60cm.
The space from the bed to the wall on the right measures 95cm.
The width of the balcony door is 103cm and it is all level.
Ensuite (447 - Right Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 85cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower without a step.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 105cm .
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The floor measures 160cm X 405cm wall to wall. The opening into the shower is 90cm wide.
There is a dropdown shower seat.
