Access Guide
Getting to (Central Outdoor Pools)
- The central outdoor pools are at the end of the central walkway from the end of the main building.
- The most accessible route has a slight ramp/slope and automatic doors.
Swimming Pool (Large Pool With Steps and Long Ramp)
- This is an outdoor swimming pool.
- There is step-free level access into the pool area.
- Access into the water is via a ramp, a ladder or steps.
- There are 2 steps with a handrail on the left going down.
- There is step-free level access around the whole pool.
- The pool has a lifeguard on duty but not at all times.
- Seating around the pool includes: sun loungers.
- Additional facilities include: poolside showers.
- The flooring is hard.

Swimming Pool (Large Pool with Stepped Access)
- This is an outdoor swimming pool.
- There is step-free level access into the pool area.
- Access into the water is via a ladder or steps.
- There is 1 step with a handrail on the right going down.
- There is step-free level access around the whole pool.
- The pool has a lifeguard on duty but not at all times.
- Seating around the pool includes: sun loungers.
- Additional facilities include: poolside showers.
- The flooring is hard.

Swimming Pool (Smaller Pool with Ladder Access)
- This is an outdoor swimming pool.
- There is step-free level access into the pool area.
- Access into the water is via a ladder.
- There is step-free level access around the whole pool.
- The pool is not staffed and does not have a lifeguard.
- Seating around the pool includes: sun loungers.
- Additional facilities include: poolside showers.
- The flooring is hard.

Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Transfer Both Sides)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 91cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 191cm x 238cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There are lateral transfer spaces on both sides of the toilet but they are obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space on the left is 80cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- The lateral transfer space on the right is 75cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
- There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the seat.
- The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: a toilet roll holder on the dropdown rail.
- The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and hand dryer.
- The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet seat (not at 48cm), the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm), the soap dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm), hand dryer (not between 80cm - 100cm) and the baby changing facility (not at 75cm).

- Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: both dropdown rails.

- The width of the toilet door opening is 72cm.
- The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
- The wash basin tap type is sensor.
- Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
