Access Guide
Getting to the Room (Room 121 - Level 0)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Bear left at reception then go through the glass doors to your left then turn right. Pass the stairs then turn left. Room 121 will be along the corridor on the right.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and automatic doors.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
Room (121)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are more than 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 77cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 57cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 16cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- Seating in the room includes: an armchair.
- The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
- The following adaptations are not available: adapted wardrobes for seated users and a lowered spyhole.
- The room has a fridge. This can be used to store medication.
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.

- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- The toilet seat is 40cm from the floor.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
- The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor and all grab rails.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the toilet seat and the internal door.
