Getting to (Spa)

  • The Spa is located next to the sports court and to the right of the Relax Pool.
  • The most accessible route has a slight ramp/slope, a steep ramp/slope and automatic doors.

Entrance

  • The entrance to the spa is located opposite the outdoor sports court.

  • There is a manual door at the entrance, which open towards you.
  • The width of the door opening is 84cm.
  • The door has a high colour contrast.

Reception

  • There is step-free level access to reception.
  • Lighting levels are good at this reception.
  • The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
  • The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
  • There are bench seats available in this reception area.
  • There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the reception area.
  • There may be background noise.

Entrance (To Pool Area)

  • The entrance to the swimming pool is located on the left as you enter the Spa.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance to the swimming pool.
  • There is a manual door at the entrance, which open away from you.
  • The width of the door opening is 85cm.
  • The door has a low colour contrast.

Swimming Pool

  • This is an indoor relaxation pool.
  • Access into the water is via steps.
  • There is 1 step with a handrail on the right going down.
  • There is step-free level access around the whole pool.
  • The pool is not staffed and does not have a lifeguard.
  • Seating around the pool includes: sun loungers.
  • Additional facilities include: poolside showers.
  • The flooring is hard.
  • There is step-free level access to the poolside showers.

Treatment Room

  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • There is a manual door which opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
  • The width of the door opening is 80cm.
  • The room does not have an unobstructed turning space (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
  • There is a fixed treatment table.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system in the room.

Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (To Right of Spa Entrance - Right Hand Transfer)

  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the toilet door.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 88cm.
  • The toilet door has a twist lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 201cm x 192cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet as you look at it.
  • The lateral transfer space is 113cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
  • There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: a toilet roll holder on the dropdown rail.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and hand dryer.
  • The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the soap dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm).
  • The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet seat (not at 48cm), the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm) and hand dryer (not between 80cm - 100cm).
  • The wash basin tap type is push.
