Resort Information
- Hotel RIU Touareg is located on the south coast of Boa Vista in Cape Verde. The resort is situated on Lacacoa Beach.
- This resort has the following facilities: rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, beach access, swimming pools and restaurants.
- The resort has 1151 rooms available. 6 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people
- Adjoining rooms are not available.
- There are 6 restaurants.
- There are 6 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: toilets with some adaptations for disabled people, standard fitting rooms and step-free standard toilets.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found in the reception area, by the main swimming pool and by the snack bar/restaurant.

Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the main building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance to the resort.
- There is an automatic door at the entrance, which is permanently open.
- The width of the door opening is 100cm.
- There is a set of revolving doors to the right of the accessible entrance door.
Reception
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
- The height of reception desk is 110cm.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a main reception, shops, bars, restaurants, a gym, indoor play areas and sports courts.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs.
- All of the rooms on the ground floor, the main restaurant and all of the activities have step-free level access.
- The access to the rooms with adaptations for disabled people, the main swimming pool and the beach are via slight ramps.
- Access to the standard rooms and suites on the first floor is via a staircase. There are no lifts in the resort.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Right Hand Transfer)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 90cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 170cm x 200cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet as you look at it.
- The lateral transfer space is 105cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Fixtures within the toilet include: a toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a hand dryer and a soap dispenser.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is no shelf in the toilet.

- The cubicle has a waste bin without lid.
- There are no coat hooks.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
- The height of the baby changing unit is 80cm.
