Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People
- There is step-free access into the toilet, via a ramp.
- The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the right going down.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens by sliding and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 80cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 180cm x 196cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it.
- The lateral transfer space is 110cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the toilet include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
- Fixtures within the toilet include: a toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a hand dryer and a soap dispenser.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is no shelf in the toilet.
- The cubicle has a pedal bin.
- There is one coat hook.
- The coat hooks for standing users are at the recommended height.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
