Access Guide
Getting to the Room
- The average walking time to the room is 4 minutes.
- From reception walk straight ahead and turn left into the corridor. Go down the ramp and turn right into the bar.
Exit through the rear exit doors and turn right onto the terrace.
Continue straight ahead and go down the long steep ramp to the annexe building.
Turn left at the end of the ramp and turn right into the building entrance and room 1001 is on the right. - The most accessible route to the room has steep ramps/slopes and manual doors.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
Room (1001)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 5 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 90cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 64cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 10cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The terrace door width is 101cm.
Ensuite (Room 1001)
- The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 94cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet and a shower without a step.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is a dropdown rail for the toilet.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
