Access Guide
Getting to the Room (001)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- From the reception desk, take a left past the lifts then turn right into the room corridor. Room 001 is straight ahead of you.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (001)
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 81cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 56cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 27cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the patio door is 102cm.
Ensuite
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 70cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin, a standard bath and a shower head over the bath.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a diagonal grab rail at the bath.
