Getting to the Room (Comfort Room 1608)

  • The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
  • From the reception lobby, take a lift to level 6. On exiting the lift, take a left and proceed along the room corridor then turn right, following the sign to Habitaciones (Rooms) 1608 - 1610. Comfort Room 1608 is located straight ahead of you, at the far end of the corridor.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and a standard lift.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is shiny.

Room (Comfort Room 1608)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are more than 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 92cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 56cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 35cm high.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny.
  • Seating in the room includes: chairs with armrests.
  • The following adaptations are available: adapted wardrobes for seated users, light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm), bedside plug sockets and window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm).
  • The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm) and a lowered spyhole.
  • The room has a fridge. This can be used to store medication.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The room does not have a ceiling track hoist, however the resort can assist with the hire of a hoist.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door, the room floor and the ensuite door.
  • Lighting levels can be adjusted.
  • Balcony / Terrace View
    • There is a terrace. The door is over 75cm wide and has a small threshold.
    • The terrace has: sun loungers, a patio table and chairs with armrests.
  • Living Area View
    • Seating in the room includes: a chair without armrests.
    • There is hard flooring.
    • Furniture in the room includes: coffee tables.
    • There is a kitchenette with adaptations for disabled people available.
    • The kitchenette has a knee recess under a worktop, low level cupboards and easy grip handles on the appliances.
    • There is an easy grip handle on the fridge.
      The emergency alarm takes the form of a telephone on the bedside table. It has large buttons and an extra-loud speaker. The bedside table is 71cm high.

Ensuite (Comfort Room 1608 - Left Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 90cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 198cm.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
  • The toilet seat is 49cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the toilet seat.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: horizontal grab rails at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, some grab rails, both dropdown rails and the floor.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: some grab rails and the toilet seat.
  • The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head not at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
  • There is no shower seat.
  • There are no dropdown rails for the shower.
  • There are two emergency alarms - a red push button alarm at a height of 40cm and a telephone alarm at a height of 109cm.
