Access Guide
Resort Information
- The Paradise Island Resort is located on the southern most edge of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands.
- The resort is spread across numerous building with slopes and ramps along paths allowing access to most areas. The majority of the sporting activity areas have stepped access.
- This resort has the following facilities: swimming pools, a water park and restaurants.
- The resort has 290 rooms available. 5 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people.
- There are 2 restaurants.
- There are 3 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: standard toilets.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found in the restaurant area, the pool area and in the waterpark.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found in the restaurant area, the pool area and in the waterpark.
- Baby change facilities can be found in the women's toilets in the pool area.
- There is no medication fridge.
- Guests cannot hire mobility equipment from the resort.
- Guests can hire mobility equipment locally.
- The resort has a list of local suppliers.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- Mobility scooters can be stored and charged in the reception area.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are allowed in most areas of the resort.
- Assistance dogs are able to stay with guests in rooms with adaptations for disabled people.

- Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
- Guests can bring food for assistance dogs which can be stored in the guest's room.
- This resort is not aware of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.

Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the reception building.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the.
- The ramp is slight, over 150cm wide, with a handrail on the left going up.
- There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
- The width of the door opening is 107cm.
- There is a second set of automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.

Reception
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- There is a reception desk at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a main reception and bars.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via ramp.
- There are steep ramps leading out from rear of the reception building to access all areas of the resort.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Pool Area - Right Hand Transfer)
- There is step-free access into the toilet, via a slope.
- The slope is slight, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 90cm.
- The toilet door has no lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 270cm x 245cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet as you look at it.
- The lateral transfer space is 100cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the toilet seat.
- Fixtures within the toilet include: a toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a hand dryer and a soap dispenser.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is no shelf in the toilet.
- The cubicle has a waste bin with lid.
- There are no coat hooks.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
