Getting to the Room (255)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- From the reception desk, head up the steep ramp and take a lift to level 2. On exiting the lift, take a right and proceed through both sets of fire doors.
Take another right into the room corridor and the door to room 255 is on the left. - The most accessible route to the room has a standard lift, a steep ramp/slope and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are under 120cm.
- The width of the lift door opening is 80cm.
- The internal dimensions for the lift are 103cm x 134cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
Room (255)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 85cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 5cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 90cm.
Ensuite (255 - No Transfer Space)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 90cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower cubicle.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as the wash basin obstructs it.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder and a soap dispenser.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
- The width of the entrance to the shower is 90cm.
