Resort Information

  • This beach-front resort is located in Corralejo, north-east Fuerteventura.

Entrance

  • The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the building.
  • There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the building.
  • The ramp is very steep, over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is a manual door at the entrance, which is permanently open.
  • The width of the door opening is 88cm.
  • The door has a high colour contrast.
  • A member of resort staff is available for assistance at this entrance.

Reception

  • There is step-free level access to reception.
  • The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
  • The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is patterned.
  • There are sofas available in this reception area.
  • There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the reception area.
  • There is background noise which varies depending on the time of day.

Getting Around the Building

  • This building contains a gym, a main reception, shops, an indoor play area, bars, restaurants and a sports court.
  • The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via lift and stairs.
  • The following areas have step-free level access: the toilets, the lifts, the mini market and the door to access the terrace. There is step-free level access via lift to the guest rooms, the main buffet restaurant and the gym.
  • The following areas have step-free access via slight ramps or slopes: the pool bar.
  • The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: the main entrance, the beach and the pool area.
  • The following areas do not have step-free access: the evening entertainment (the platform lift is currently out of use).
  • There is low pile carpet and hard flooring.
  • Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
  • The majority of walkway widths are under 120cm, with medium colour contrast between the walls and floor.

Lift

  • The lift is located to the right hand side of the reception desk.
  • The floors that can be accessed from this lift are 0 to 7.
  • This lift is a standard lift.
  • Externally the lift has: a door with a low colour contrast to the surroundings, buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings and controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
  • The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
  • The lift door opening width is 76cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 130cm x 134cm.
  • There are other lifts which are similar in size at the same location.
  • Internally the lift has; controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), Braille markings, tactile markings and buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings.

Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Reception Lobby - Right Hand Transfer)

  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 76cm.
  • The toilet door has a twist lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 157cm x 310cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet as you look at it.
  • The lateral transfer space is 103cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
  • There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder and the wash basin.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: towel dispenser and the soap dispenser.
  • The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the baby changing facility (not at 75cm), the soap dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm), towel dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm), the toilet seat (not at 48cm) and the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm).
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor and the internal toilet door.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the dropdown rail and the toilet seat.
  • There is no emergency alarm.
  • The toilet has a mirror.
  • There is no shelf in the toilet.
  • The cubicle has a waste bin without lid.
  • There is one coat hook.
  • The coat hooks for standing users are at the recommended height.
  • There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).

Toilet (Reception Lobby)

  • There is also a male toilet in the same location.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 77cm.
  • The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
