Access Guide
Getting to the Room (Block 2, Room 2070)
- The average walking time to the room is 5 minutes.
- Exit the lobby at the rear of the main building, continue ahead along the main resort walkway for approximately 230 metres. Between the second and third intersections along the main resort walkway, turn left and head into Block 2. Continue ahead before taking a left, then a right. Room 2070 is then the first door on the left.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- The flooring on the route is not shiny or patterned.
Room (2070)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 6 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 92cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 64cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 25cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm) .
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- Seating in the room includes: a sofa.
- The following adaptations are available: window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm), bedside plug sockets, light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm) and plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm).
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm) and adapted wardrobes for seated users.
- The room has a fridge. This can be used to store medication.
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.

- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
