Getting to

  • Veranda Restaurant is located on Level 1 of the Turquoise and Veranda restaurant building, which in turn is located in the centre of the resort grounds, next to the Lotus Bar.
  • The most accessible route has a lift, slight ramps/slopes, steep ramps/slopes, an automatic door and doors permanently held open.

Lift (Turquoise and Veranda Restaurants - Centre)

  • The lift is located in the centre of the Turquoise and Veranda Restaurants, to the right as you approach from the Lotus Bar on Level 0.
  • The floors that can be accessed from this lift are 0, 1, 2.
  • This lift is a standard lift.
  • Externally the lift has: a door with a good colour contrast to the surroundings, buttons with a poor colour contrast to the surroundings and controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
  • The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
  • The lift door opening width is 109cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 143cm x 200cm.
  • Internally the lift has; controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), Braille markings, tactile markings, buttons with a poor colour contrast to the surroundings and a visual floor indicator.

Stairs (Turquoise and Veranda Restaurants - Centre)

  • The floors which are accessible by stairs are 0, 1, 2.
  • There are 15+ steps between floors with resting points (landings).
  • The stairs are not clearly marked and have a handrail on the right going up.

Lift (Turquoise and Veranda Restaurants - Rear)

  • The lift is located to the rear of the Turquoise and Veranda Restaurant building when approaching from the Lotus Bar area on Level 0.
  • The floors that can be accessed from this lift are 0, 1, 2.
  • This lift is a standard lift.
  • Externally the lift has: a door with a good colour contrast to the surroundings, buttons with a poor colour contrast to the surroundings and controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
  • The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
  • The lift door opening width is 91cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 126cm x 131cm.
  • There are other lifts which are similar in size at the same location.
  • Internally the lift has; controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), Braille markings, tactile markings, buttons with a poor colour contrast to the surroundings and a visual floor indicator.

Entrance

Restaurant

  • The restaurant has a bar where drinks can be ordered, buffet counters, self service counters and staff who can provide assistance.
  • Menus are menu boards.
  • Food served includes: buffet food.
  • The following dietary requirements can be catered for: gluten free, dairy free, lactose free, nut allergy, vegetarian and vegan.
  • Guests with food allergies cannot bring their own food.
  • The following are available: drinking straws.
  • There is no hearing assistance system.
  • There is background noise.
  • None of the counters are at the recommended height for wheelchair users (between 76cm - 85cm).
  • The flooring inside is hard.
  • The flooring is shiny.
  • Lighting levels are low in this area.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.

Seating

  • There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).

Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Turquoise and Veranda Restaurants - No Transfer Space)

  • There is step-free level access into the toilet, via lift.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 83cm.
  • The toilet door has a push button lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 140cm x 168cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is not a lateral transfer space next to the toilet.
  • There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and towel dispenser.
  • The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet seat (not at 48cm), the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm), the soap dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm) and towel dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm).
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal toilet door.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the toilet seat, the grab rail, the floor and the dropdown rail.
  • There is an intercom alarm system.
