Access Guide
Getting to the Room (5015)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Exit reception via the main entrance doorway and take a left down the ramp. Continue ahead along the compacted sandy pathway.
Take a left towards the guest rooms and room 5015 is on the left hand side. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and a slight ramp/slope.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The buggies can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (5015)
- There is not step-free access into the room.
- There are 2 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 85cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 1cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- Seating in the room includes: a chair with armrests and a sofa.
- The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), adapted wardrobes for seated users, window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm) and a lowered spyhole.
- The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door, the room floor and the ensuite door.

- There is a terrace. The door is over 75cm wide and has a small threshold.
- The terrace has: sun loungers and sofas.

- A portable ramp to overcome the stepped access to the room can be requested in advance.
Ensuite (5015)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 85cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- There is hard flooring.
- The toilet seat is 45cm from the floor.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
- The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door and the floor.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the toilet seat.
- The ensuite has: a standard bath and a shower cubicle.
- The height of the side of the bath from floor level is 65cm (2ft 2in).
- There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm) and a fixed height shower head.
- There is no shower seat, but one can be requested from reception.
- There are no dropdown rails for the shower.
