Access Guide
Getting to the Room (2201)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- From the reception desk, take the slight ramp towards the lifts on the right hand side and take a lift to level 2.
On exiting the lift veer right and proceed through the fire door (110cm wide). Take a right and head through a second fire door (130cm wide) and the first door on the left is room 2201. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift, a slight ramp/slope and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are under 120cm.
- The width of the lift door opening is 90cm.
- The internal dimensions for the lift are 130cm x 137cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
Room (2201)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 8 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 89cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 5cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 85cm.
Ensuite (2201 - Left Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 94cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 140cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a flip-down shower seat in the shower.
