Entrance

  • The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the main building.

  • There are manual doors at the entrance, which open away from you.
  • The width of the door opening is 140cm.
  • The doors have a low colour contrast.
  • A member of resort staff is available for assistance at this entrance.

Reception

  • Access to reception is via a steep ramp/slope.
  • The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The reception has patterned backgrounds which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.
  • There is a reception desk suitable for a wheelchair user.
  • The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • There are chairs without armrests, chairs with armrests, sofas and coffee tables available in this reception area.
  • There is not space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the reception area.
  • There is background noise which varies depending on the time of day.

Getting Around the Building

  • This building contains a main reception, a shop, bars, restaurants, an indoor pool and a gym.
  • The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and lift.
  • The following areas have step-free access via slight ramps or slopes: the main entrance, the reception desk, the toilets, the pool area, the entertainment bar, the main restaurant and the activities.
  • The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: the rooms with adaptations for disabled people and the beach.
  • The following areas do not have step-free access: the sauna and Turkish bath.
  • There is hard flooring.

Lift

  • The lift is located to the rear of the main buffet restaurant.
  • The floors that can be accessed from this lift are 0 to 1 (The Entertainment Bar).
  • This lift is a standard lift.
  • Externally the lift has: a door with a low colour contrast to the surroundings.
  • The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
  • The lift door opening width is 80cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 100cm x 116cm.
  • Internally the lift has; controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm) and buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings.

Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Next to the Restaurant - Right Hand Transfer)

  • There is step-free access into the toilet, via a ramp.
  • The ramp is slight over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 80cm.
  • The toilet door has a locking handle.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 152cm x 400cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet as you look at it, but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 79cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
  • There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
  • There is no dropdown rail.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the soap dispenser, towel dispenser and the wash basin.
  • The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the toilet seat (48cm) and the soap dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm).
