Access Guide
Getting to the Room (402)
- The average walking time to the room is 3 minutes.
- Exit the reception lobby and go down the ramp. Take the sloped pathway which leads towards the pool and turn right.
Follow the pathway and take a right into the room corridor of the 3rd building on the right. Room 402 is on the right hand side. - The most accessible route to the room has steep ramps/slopes.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The buggies can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (402)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 3 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 90cm wide.
- The bed type is single and double.
- The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 10cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), adapted wardrobes for seated users, window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm) and a lowered spyhole.
- The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the room floor and the ensuite door.

Balcony / Terrace

- There is a balcony. The door is over 75cm wide and has a small threshold.
- The balcony has: chairs with armrests.
Ensuite (402 - Left Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 88cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 60cm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- The toilet seat is 50cm from the floor.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does have an emergency alarm.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, the floor and the toilet seat.
- The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
- There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
- There is a shower seat.
