Getting to the Room (8018)

  • The average walking time to the room is 8 minutes.
  • Exit the lobby bar via the manual exit doors, turn left and proceed down the ramp. From the bottom of the ramp, turn left towards the toilets then veer right through the doors into the snack bar area.
    Cross the snack bar and exit the building via the fire exit doors. Take the slope down (bypassing the baby lounge) towards the entertainment area.
    Continue through the entertainment area and head along the sloping pathway to the mini roundabout.
    Continue across the mini roundabout and continue on the pathway. At the second roundabout take a right. Turn right at the signpost and the room is straight ahead, up the slight ramp.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, manual doors and slight ramps/slopes.

Room (8018)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 5 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • There is step-free access into the room, via a ramp.
  • The ramp is slight between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 80cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 25cm high.
  • Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • Seating in the room includes: sofas.
  • The following adaptations are available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
  • The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door, the room floor and the ensuite door.

Ensuite (8018 - Left Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 80cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 190cm .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The toilet seat is 50cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor, the toilet seat, both dropdown rails, the internal door and all grab rails.
  • The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
  • There is a flip-down shower seat.
  • There is a dropdown rail for the shower.
