Access Guide
Getting to the Room (Block 21 - 2101)
- The average walking time to the room is 4 minutes.
- Exit the reception area and proceed across the driveway and up the steep ramp (165cm wide). From the top of the ramp turn left then straight ahead along the level pathway.
Take another left turn then straight on into the room corridor. The first door on the right is room 2101. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, steep ramps/slopes and an open entrance with no doors.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope and steps.
- The buggies can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (2101)
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 91cm wide.
- The bed type is twin.
- The top of the mattress is 57cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 16cm high.
- Furniture can be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 142cm.
Ensuite (2101)
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower cubicle.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a 112cm wide open doorway into the bathroom area, with a separate toilet cubicle. The width of the toilet door is 69cm.
The width of the shower cubicle door is 62cm.
