Access Guide
Getting to the Room (1111)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Head across the reception lobby, opposite the reception desk. Bypass the lifts and head through the automatic double doors. Continue ahead along the carpeted room corridor and room 1111 is on the right hand side.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and automatic doors.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (1111)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 3 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 98cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 9cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
Ensuite (1111)
- The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 96cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 90cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder and an emergency alarm.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The wall on the transfer side partially obstructs the transfer space. There is a flip-down shower seat.
