Access Guide
Getting to the Room (3104)
- The average walking time to the room is 15 minutes.
- Exit the lobby building via the entrance door, proceed down the front steps and turn left onto the wide path that winds between the accommodation buildings.
Continue along this path, and then take the path to the left towards Building 31. - The most accessible route to the room has steps, a slight ramp/slope, a steep ramp/slope and manual doors.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- There are club carts available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The club carts cannot be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (3104)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free access into the room, via a ramp.
- The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 81cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 70cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 15cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- There is a portable ramp available, which overcomes the step leading down to the bath area in the bedroom.
The balcony has stepped access and a door width of 91cm.
There is an additional small step leading off of balcony onto the path to the beach from the room.
Ensuite (3104)
- The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 65cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower with a step.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail for the toilet and a diagonal grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There are wall mounted grab rails on both sides of the toilet in the separate toilet cubicle.
The shower has stepped access and a door width of 69cm.
