Access Guide
Getting to the Room (6002)
- The average walking time to the room is 6 minutes.
- Head down the ramp in reception and out the manual rear doors. Continue along the straight pathway then turn right.
After continuing along another straight pathway, turn left and cross the road at the crossing.
Proceed through the automatic doors and into building number 6 (the width of the doors is 160cm).
Once through the doors, turn left and head into the 2nd building.
Take a right and follow the path to the fire doors
Pass through the fire doors and into the room corridor. The corridor leads into another corridor on the left and the door to room is 6002 is on the left. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a slight ramp/slope, automatic doors and manual doors.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
Room (6002)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 7 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 80cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 55cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 25cm high.
- Furniture can be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the sliding door into the bedroom is 82cm.
The width of the balcony door is 100cm.
Ensuite (6002)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 85cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical grab rail on the non transfer side, a horizontal grab rail at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
