Access Guide
Getting to (The Solarium)
- The Solarium is located on the third floor of the resort, to the left as you exit the left wing lift.
- The most accessible route has a lift, step-free level access and a stair lift.

Entrance (The Solarium)
- The entrance to the area is located on the third floor to the left as you exit the left wing lift.
- The entrance to the area is accessed by lift.
- Access to the area is via lift, for more information see the lift section of the Access Guide (new tab).
- There is a lift which bypasses the steps.
- There is step-free level access via lift at the entrance to the area.
- There are 7 steps, which are unmarked, with a handrail on the left going up.
- There is a manual door at the entrance, which is permanently open.
- The door has a high colour contrast.
- The width of the door opening is 122cm.
Lift (Stair Lift)
- The lift is located at the bottom of the stairs before the entrance.
- This lift is a stair lift (staff assistance required).
- Externally the lift has: buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings, tactile markings and controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door opening width is 85cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 85cm x 78cm.
- Lighting levels are low in this lift.
- A member of staff needs to be notified to use the lift.
Seating (The Solarium)
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- Furniture can be moved to make space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- The seating includes: sun loungers and chairs with armrests.
- The tables are not suitable for wheelchair users (between 70cm - 80cm and free from obstruction).
- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- The flooring outside is hard.
- There is no (or very little) background noise.
Toilet (Male and Female)
- The male and female standard toilets were surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 80cm.
- The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
- There is a shower cubicle in each of the toilets.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Transfer Both Sides)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens by sliding and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 90cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 307cm x 233cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There are lateral transfer spaces on both sides of the toilet but the left side, as you look at it, is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space on the left is 119cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- The lateral transfer space on the right is 130cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
- There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the seat.
- The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: a toilet roll holder on the dropdown rail.
- The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and towel dispenser.
- The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the soap dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm) and towel dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm).
- The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet seat (not at 48cm) and the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm).
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: both dropdown rails.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal toilet door, the toilet seat and the floor.
- There is no emergency alarm.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is no shelf in the toilet.
- The cubicle has a waste bin without lid and a sanitary bin.
- There are two coat hooks.
- The coat hooks for standing users are at the recommended height.
- The toilet has a wheel in shower.
