Access Guide
Getting to the Room (214)
- From the reception lobby, take a lift to level 2. On exiting the lift turn right.
- Take another right turn into the room corridor and room 214 is on the left hand side.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is patterned.
Room (214)
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 80cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 14cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm) .
- There is hard flooring.
- Seating in the room includes: a chair without armrests.
- The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm).
- The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- The room does have a flashing fire alarm.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door and the room floor.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the ensuite door.

- The toilet seat is 42cm from the floor.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder and the wash basin.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does have an emergency alarm.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, the floor and the toilet seat.
- The ensuite has: a shower cubicle.
