Access Guide
Getting to the Room (1107)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Proceed to the right hand side of the reception desk and bypass the lifts. Head through the fire doors into the room corridor and the first two doors on the right hand side are the two adapted rooms, 1105 and 1107.
- The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (1107)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 110cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 12cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
Ensuite (1107 - Right Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 110cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 110cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
