Getting to the Room (215)
- The average walking time to the room is 4 minutes.
- Exit the reception area via the fire doors next to the lift. On exiting the building, proceed along the slightly sloping pathway which bypasses the accommodation block and turn right.
At the double brown doors, turn right again into the room corridor and the door to room number 215 is on the left. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a slight ramp/slope and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The buggies can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (215)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 3 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 80cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 62cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 8cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 120cm.
Ensuite (215)
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower cubicle.
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a 1.5cm lip into the shower cubicle. The shower cubicle door and toilet door are 72cm wide.
