Getting to the Room (Room 1224)
- The average walking time to the room is 5 minutes.
- From the entrance foyer, take the left-hand corridor and pass the shop.
Continue along the corridor, passing the lifts, then follow the corridor round to the left and through a set of double doors.
Continue following the corridor round 2 right turns and then take a left. Room 1224 is on the right-hand side of the corridor. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (Room 1224)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are more than 10 rooms of this type in the resort
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 86cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 77cm from the floor.
- Furniture can be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- Seating in the room includes: a chair without armrests and a sofa.
- The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), adapted wardrobes for seated users and plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm).
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), an underbed gap for a hoist (over 20cm) and bedside plug sockets.
- The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the room floor, the internal room door and the ensuite door.

Ensuite (Room 1224)
- The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 92cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- The toilet seat is 44cm from the floor.
- There is a dropdown rail on the non transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a vertical rail on the right side of the wash basin, horizontal grab rails at the shower, a vertical grab rail at the shower, a horizontal grab rail on the door, a vertical grab rail on the non transfer side and a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
- The taps are twist turn mixer.
- The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
- The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the dropdown rail and all grab rails.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the toilet seat, the floor and the internal door.
- The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
