Access Guide
Getting to (Adult Pool)
- The pool is in the grounds of the resort in front of Block 4101 - 4207.
The pool can be reached using the ramps or steps throughout the grounds.
The route from the central area of the grounds includes steep ramps or steps.
The routes from the accommodation blocks includes slight ramps or steps.
Swimming Pool
- This is an outdoor swimming pool.
- Access into the pool area is via a steep ramp/slope (which bypasses any steps) and steps.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with handrails on both sides.
- There are 3 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- Access into the water is via a ladder.
- There is step-free level access around the whole pool.
- The pool has a lifeguard on duty but not at all times.
- Seating around the pool includes: sun loungers.
- Additional facilities include: poolside showers.
- The flooring is artificial grass and hard.

- There is not step-free access to the poolside bar.
- There is step-free level access to the poolside showers.
- The ramp to the pool is used to go from the pool to the toilets.
The steps are used to go from the pool to the bar.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Adult Pool - Left Hand Transfer)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 86cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 197cm x 192cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it, but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 87cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush on the wall above the cistern.
- The following grab rails are available: a vertical grab rail on the transfer side, a horizontal grab rail on the toilet door, a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side and a vertical grab rail on the non-transfer side.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder.
- The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and towel dispenser.
- The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the toilet roll holder (between 80cm - 100cm) and the soap dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm).
- The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm), the toilet seat (not at 48cm) and towel dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm).
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the dropdown rail and all grab rails.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal toilet door, the toilet seat and the floor.
- There is no emergency alarm.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is a shelf located where it is reachable for seated and standing users.
- The cubicle has a waste bin without lid and a pedal bin.
- There are no coat hooks.
- The accessible toilet is located before the ramp to the pool, so it has level access from the main area of the grounds, but a steep ramp leading from the pool and the bar.

- The male and female standard toilets were surveyed.
- There is not step-free access into the toilet.
- There is 1 step to access the toilet. This is unmarked, with no handrails
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- Lighting levels are low in the cubicle.
