Access Guide
Getting to (Carob Lounge)
- Carob Lounge is at the rear of the ground floor (Level 2) of the main hotel building.
- The most accessible route has step-free level access.
- The nearest toilet with adaptations for disabled people is on Level 2 of the main building, opposite Carob Lounge, please click here for more information (new tab)
Entrance
- The entrance to the bar is located on Level 2 of the main building, along the right hand corridor.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the bar.
- The ramp is slight, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the left going up.
- There are 2 steps, which are unmarked, with a central handrail.
- The ramp overcomes the steps.
Bar
- The bar has full table service and serves food and drink.
- Menus are handheld.
- Food served includes: desserts and sandwiches and snacks.
- The following dietary requirements can be catered for: gluten free, dairy free, lactose free, nut allergy, vegetarian and vegan.
- The following are available: drinking straws, takeaway cups, a portable card machine for payment and room charge.
- There is background noise.
- None of the counters are at the recommended height for wheelchair users (between 76cm - 85cm) .
- The flooring inside is hard.
- Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
Seating
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- The seating includes: stools, chairs without armrests, sofas, high stools and chairs with armrests.
- Some of the tables are suitable for wheelchair users (between 70cm - 80cm and free from obstruction).
- The flooring inside is hard and low pile carpet.
- Some flooring is shiny.
- The flooring outside is hard.
- There is background noise.
- The doors to the terrace are automatic.
