Access Guide
Getting to the Room (1008)
- The average walking time to the room is 5 minutes.
- From reception, exit the building through the main entrance and turn left down the first part of the entrance ramp.
Continue along the front of the building, following the path with the building on your left.
Turn right onto the covered ramp, leading into the bedroom block.
Proceed through the door at the bottom of the ramp.
Follow the internal corridor, down the internal ramp.
the door to the room will be on your left hand side. - The most accessible route to the room has slight ramps/slopes, steep ramps/slopes, manual doors and a door permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
- There are club carts available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The club carts cannot be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (1008)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 5 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 93cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 59cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 9cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- There is no emergency alarm, however there is a telephone in the room with a quick dial to reception for assistance.
Ensuite (1008)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 89cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin, a standard bath and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 154cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a horizontal grab rail at the bath and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
