Access Guide
Getting to the Room (2003)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Take the corridor to the left of the reception desks and continue past the lobby bar.
Proceed through a set of double doors, which are always open.
Continue past the lifts and turn right onto the bedroom corridor.
The door to the room will be on your left. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny.
Room (2003)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 84cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 26cm high.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- There is a balcony on the room. The door for the balcony slides open and has a width of 110cm.
There is a slight threshold ramp at this door.
Ensuite (2003)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 84cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 97cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
