Getting to the Room (2003)

  • The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
  • Take the corridor to the left of the reception desks and continue past the lobby bar.
    Proceed through a set of double doors, which are always open.
    Continue past the lifts and turn right onto the bedroom corridor.
    The door to the room will be on your left.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access and doors permanently held open.
  • The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is shiny.

Room (2003)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 84cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 26cm high.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm).
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • There is hard flooring.
  • There is a balcony on the room. The door for the balcony slides open and has a width of 110cm.
    There is a slight threshold ramp at this door.

Ensuite (2003)

  • The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 84cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 97cm.
  • Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
  • There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
