Access Guide
Getting to the Room (5004)
- The average walking time to the room is 3 minutes.
- From the resort entrance, turn left and head through the lobby. Head through the permanently held open door and continue down the very steep slope. Take a left past the signage and immediately turn right, room 5004 is on the right hand side.
- The most accessible route to the room has a very steep ramp/slope and a door permanently held open.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- The flooring on the route is not shiny or patterned.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The buggies can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (5004)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 83cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 51cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 6cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- Seating in the room includes: a chair without armrests.
- The following adaptations are available: bedside plug sockets, plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm).
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), adapted wardrobes for seated users, window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm) and a lowered spyhole.
- The room has a fridge. This can be used to store medication.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.

- The toilet seat is 52cm from the floor.
- There is a dropdown rail on the right.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a diagonal grab rail at the shower, a vertical rail on the right side of the wash basin and a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin.
