Access Guide
Getting to the Room (Block 5 - Room 5114)
- The average walking time to the room is 6 minutes.
- Exit the reception lobby via the manual doors to the right of the reception desk and turn left. Continue straight ahead until you reach a fork in the pathway.
Veer right at the fork and continue along the slightly sloping pathway into Block 5. Take a lift to floor 1. On exiting the lift proceed through the fire doors into the room corridor. The door to room number 5114 is on the left. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift, slight ramps/slopes, manual doors and doors permanently held open.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- The width of the lift door opening is 80cm.
- The internal dimensions for the lift are 134cm x 93cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
- There are club carts available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The club carts can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (Block 5 - Room 5114)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are more than 10 rooms of this type in the resort.
- The layout and facilities in the other rooms with adaptations for disabled people vary from the one surveyed. .
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 80cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 56cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 20cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 70cm.
Ensuite (Block 5 - Room 5114)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 85cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower cubicle.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 105cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder, a soap dispenser and an emergency alarm.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail for the toilet and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
- The width of the open shower door is 78cm.
