Access Guide
Getting to the Room (1017)
- The average walking time to the room is 5 minutes.
- Exit the reception lobby via the automatic exit door and proceed down the sloped pathway. Bypass the pool area and head towards the passageway on the far right hand side.
On exiting the passageway, take a right, bypass the second pool and proceed straight ahead into the Almeria building.
Continue ahead into the room corridor and room 1017 is on the right hand side. - The most accessible route to the room has automatic doors, an open entrance with no doors, doors permanently held open, a slight ramp/slope and step-free level access.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
Room (1017)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 4 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 81cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 50cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 24cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
Ensuite (1017 - Right Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door slides open and has an opening width of 84cm.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a wash basin, a wheel-in shower and a toilet.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 183cm .
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder and a soap dispenser.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, horizontal grab rails at the shower and a vertical grab rail at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
