Access Guide
Resort Information
- The resort is located on Via Puig des Teix in the centre of Santa Ponsa.
- This resort has the following facilities: rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, a toilet with some adaptations for disabled people and a swimming pool. There may be additional charges for some of these facilities, for more information please contact TUI or the resort.
- The resort has 588 rooms available. 10 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people
- Standard rooms with adjoining rooms are available.
- The Pionero building is a little higher then the Santa Ponsa Park building. However one can move from one to another via ramps.
- There are 2 restaurants.
- There are 2 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: standard toilets, toilets with some adaptations for disabled people and ambulant cubicles.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found In the Santa Ponsa Park building next to the lounge bar. In the outdoor pool area.

- The resort has a list of local suppliers.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.

Entrance
- The entrance to the building is located at the front of the building opposite the street.
- The slope is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the right going up.
- There are 3 steps, which are unmarked, with a handrail on the left going up.
- The ramp overcomes the steps.
- There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
- The width of the door opening is 159cm.
- The doors have a low colour contrast.
- There is a second set of automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
- The width of the door opening is 154cm.
- The doors have a low colour contrast.
- A member of resort staff is available for assistance at this entrance.
Reception
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- Lighting levels are good at this reception.
- The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny.
- There are coffee tables and sofas available in this reception area.
- There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the reception area.
- There is background noise which varies depending on the time of day.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a bar and a restaurant.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and lift.
- The following areas have step-free level access: Reception and lobby, buffet restaurant, lounge bar.
- The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: main lifts and stairs serving all floors.
- The following areas do not have step-free access: The raised seating area near reception.

- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm, with medium colour contrast between the walls and floor.
Getting Around the Resort
- The Pionero building is a little higher than the Santa Ponsa Park building. However one can move from one to another via ramps.

Counter (TUI Counter)
- There is step-free level access to the counter.

- There are tables and a mixture of chairs with and without armrests available in the counter area.
- There is not space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the counter area.
- There is background noise which varies depending on the time of day.
Lift
- The lift is located to the right of the reception desk.
- The floors that can be accessed from this lift are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- This lift is a standard lift.
- Externally the lift has: a door with a high colour contrast to the surroundings, controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm) and buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door opening width is 81cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 108cm x 140cm.
- There are other lifts which vary in size at the same location.
- Internally the lift has; tactile markings, Braille markings, a mirror to aid reversing, a visual floor indicator, buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings and controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- There is an similar lift to the left of the one surveyed.
Stairs
- The floors which are accessible by stairs are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- There are 15+ steps between floors with resting points (landings).
- The stairs have a handrail on the left going up.
Toilet (Opposite Buffet Restaurant)
- The male and female standard toilets were surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 77cm.
- The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
- There is an ambulant cubicle available with a dropdown rail on the left.
- The information above relates to the male toilet. There is a different configuration of rails in the female toilet.
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- There are no ambulant facilities in the female toilet.
