Access Guide
Getting to the Room (Park 8)
- The average walking time to the room is 5 minutes.
- Exit the reception building and follow the path straight ahead, turning right at the junction.
Follow the walkway, veering left towards the room building.
Continue down the ramp that bypasses the steps, the room door is around the corner of the individual house unit, to your left. - The most accessible route to the room has a slight ramp/slope (which bypasses the steps) and slight ramps/slopes.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are over 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is patterned.
Room (Park 8)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 83cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 59cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 11cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- Park 8 has a lounge area with sofas that can be made up into single beds.
Ensuite (Park 8 - Right Hand Transfer)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 94cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a wheel-in shower.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 115cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and horizontal grab rails at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
