Getting To The Hospital

Getting Help and Assistance

  • To see the hospital map please click here (opens new tab).
  • There is a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the hospital.
  • The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) is located on the ground floor corridor of the Outpatients area.
  • The telephone number for the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) is 01283 593 110.

  • There are volunteers available for help and assistance at the hospital.
  • Volunteers can be found at the Help Desk.
  • Documents are available in an alternative format and can be provided to include: Braille on request and different languages on request.
  • There is not an assistance dog toilet or toileting area on the hospital site.
  • Water bowls for assistance dogs are not available.
  • BSL interpreters can be provided on request.
  • Language interpreters can be provided on request.
  • A mobility scooter charging point is not available at the hospital.
  • Mobility aids are available to help patients move around and include; wheelchairs.
  • To obtain mobility aids please contact PALS.
  • There is a Changing Places facility at this hospital which is located on the right of the corridor as you approach the Porters Lodge from the main entrance.

    Telephone interpretation services are available 24 hours a day.
    Patients should contact the ward or clinic that they will be attending to discuss interpreting needs.
    Virtual appointments are available via Attend Anywhere.
    Interpreters can be used during these virtual appointments.
    BSL interpreters are provided by Staffordshire (including for patients attending Attend Anywhere virtual appointments).
    Patients can pre-book face to face interpreting by contacting the ward/department with: Patient name, Appointment date & time, Clinic name & location and Hospital number (if known).
    Patients can also book directly with Staffordshire ASSIST at assist@staffordshire.gov.uk.
    Out of Hours face to face BSL interpreters can be requested by texting booking details to 07977 007 184.

    • Parking is free for Blue Badge Holders, but they need to phone to register as per the below:
    • Blue Badge Holders can register for free car parking by telephoning the Car Parking Help Line (0333 456 1111). Callers will need to have their Blue Badge number, badge expiry date and vehicle registration when registering. Registration can be done in advance or up to 72 hours after your visit. Registration for free parking covers Queens, Samuel Johnson and Sir Robert Peel hospitals.

Getting To (Children's Clinic)

  • The Children's Clinic is/are located in the Treatment Centre.
  • Access to the Children's Clinic is via the Treatment Centre Entrance 2.
  • Enter through Entrance 2 of the Treatment Centre and proceed ahead along the corridor. On the left is a set of double doors marked Entrance 2. Once through these doors the lift is to your right and the stairs to the left. Take the lift to the 2nd floor. Exit the lift and turn to the right. There are double doors with a shared entry to both the Children's Clinic and Orthopaedics Urology. Enter through the doors and proceed straight ahead down the corridor and the Children's Clinic will be ahead of you.
  • There is step free access, via lift, to the Children's Clinic.
  • The Children's Clinic is approximately 3m from the lift.
  • There is a/are manual, double door(s) which is/are easy to open between the lift and the department/service.
  • There are resting areas along the route.
  • Wayfinding signage is provided.
