- Richmond Building is a very large building, with different blocks and up to 6 floors in each block.
- There are 2 main lifts and 3 main staircases within the building.

Parking and Public Transport

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via a long slight slope, on Queens Road.
- The Richmond Building has 2 entrances.
- Both entrances provide step-free access into the building.
- The most accessible entrance is the main entrance located on Queens Road, which gives stepped and lift access to the swimming pool or the main part of the building.
- The main entrance is signed as University of BRISTOL Richmond Building home of Bristol SU The Student Union.
- The main entrance provides step-free level access to the lower ground floor, and a platform lift up to the upper ground lobby or down to the swimming pool.
- The Gordon Road entrance provides access to the upper ground floor lobby via a slight slope.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of the building on all floors.
- There are 7 clearly marked steps, with a handrail on the left going up, for access to the Radio Station, Dance studio, Ceramic and Stacy Room on the North side.
- There is a platform lift which overcomes the steps.
- There is a slight ramp, with a handrail on the right going up, for access to the upper ground floor accessible toilet.
- Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish. .
- There are resting areas in some of the circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.
- Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building, together with floor plans.
- There are manual doors in some of the corridors.
- Some of these may be permanently held open.
