Overview

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free via a long slight ramp at the side entrance.
  • There are three entrances. The most accessible entrance is to the side of the building, with a long slight ramp. The accessible entrance has a push pad activated, single automatic door.
  • The accessible entrance has no signage. The main entrance is signed as WELCOME TO DEVONSHIRE HOUSE. The first floor entrance from the Forum is signed as EXETER STUDENTS GUILD.
  • The accessible entrance provides step-free access to the lift foyer and the seating area on the ground floor.
  • There is a steep ramp at the main entrance. There is step-free level access from the Forum on the first floor.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access in the majority of the building.
    There are 2 standard lifts.
  • Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
  • There are various resting areas throughout the building.
  • Wall mounted wayfinding signage is available by the stairs and lifts.
  • There are some manual doors in some corridor areas.
