Overview

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free via ramps.
  • There is a step-free approach to the building via a slight ramp to access the main entrance from Park Wood Road .
  • Ingram Building has two entrances. The main entrance provides step-free access via a slight ramp. The rear entrance provides step-free access via a steep ramp. There are double automatic doors available at both entrances.
  • The entrances are signed as Ingram.
  • Th main entrance is the most accessible and provides step-free access to the reception on the ground floor.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout the majority of the building via lifts.
  • On the ground floor there are 5 clearly marked steps with handrails on both sides along the corridor near the middle staircase. There is a platform lift that bypasses the steps.
  • On the second floor there is a link corridor with slight ramp with no handrails to access the Stacey building.
  • Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
  • Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided at key points throughout the building.
  • There are manual doors along circulation routes throughout the building, some have to be opened manually and some are permanently held open.

Toilet and Changing Facilities

  • Toilet Facilities View
    • There is 1 toilet with adaptations.
    • The toilet with adaptations is located on the ground floor along the corridor on the left.
    • All toilets with adaptations have a right hand transfer space.
    • The male and female step-free standard toilet facilities are located on the ground, first, second, third and fourth floors.
    • The shared step-free standard toilet facilities are located on floor 2.
  • Changing Places and Changing Facilities View
    • Parent and baby changing facilities are located in the female and male standard toilets on the ground floor.

Parking (new)

  • Drop-off Point View
    • There is not a designated drop-off point available.
  • On-street Parking View
    • On-street standard parking is available.
    • On street standard parking is available directly outside the main entrance on Park Wood Road. These spaces are pre-bookable only .
  • Public Car Parks View
    • There is a public car park located Behind the Sports Centre.
    • The name of the car park is Sports Centre Pay and Display.
    • Designated Blue Badge parking bays are available in the car park.

Entrance (Main)

  • This entrance is located at the front of the building on Park Wood Road.
  • The entrance area is clearly signed.
  • There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.

  • The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide with no handrails.

  • The lift door has a low visual contrast.
  • The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • The weight limit for the lift is 500kg.
  • The external lift control buttons have tactile markings and a high visual contrast.
  • All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
